Discover The TimberWild School's Outdoor Adventures

🌿

At Timberwild Nature Camp, we believe childhood is meant to be wild, wonder-filled, and deeply rooted in nature. Our program is designed to nurture children’s development in a way that’s both joyful and meaningful — encouraging curiosity, confidence, creativity, and connection.

Led by a seasoned Child and Youth Counsellor, Timberwild offers a unique blend of child-led exploration, therapeutic support, and intentional outdoor experiences. With years of experience supporting children’s emotional and developmental needs, we understand that true growth happens when children feel safe, seen, and free to be themselves.

Our camp is inspired by two powerful philosophies:

  • The TimberNook Approach: Developed by a pediatric occupational therapist, TimberNook emphasizes sensory-rich outdoor play that helps children build resilience, problem-solving skills, and emotional regulation — all while having a blast in nature.

  • The Wildwood Model: Rooted in the idea of “learning through wonder,” Wildwood-inspired programming supports children’s natural curiosity and fosters a deep connection to the land, storytelling, and seasonal rhythms. It allows space for slow learning, imagination, and authentic experiences.

Together, these approaches form the heart of Timberwild: a place where children ages 6–12 can unplug, play freely, and grow holistically — socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Our environment is screen-free, nature-rich, and faith-informed, encouraging deep values like stewardship, gratitude, and community.

A group of children gathers outdoors on an orange mat placed on the ground near a brick wall and rustic building. Some children are sitting with books, while others stand nearby. There's an atmosphere of informal learning or play in a rural setting.

The TimberWild School has transformed my child's confidence and connection with the outdoors. Highly recommend!
